Editing has been a large part of my professional experience. Beginning as an editor for multiple publications and a writing tutor at Drake, I improved my editing skills and practiced interfacing with clients.

During my time as a tutor, I helped one student raise her class grade from a D to a B, another student develop better journalistic writing habits, and multiple English language learners navigate English grammar. I worked on writing from all genres as an editor for the college social science journal and the art and literary journal, and I became an expert on AP Style as the copy chief and fact-checker for a student-operated magazine.

As part of my roles at Disability Rights IOWA and Juno Lighting Group, I created personalized style guides. I ensured consistency on Disability Rights IOWA’s redesigned website and Juno’s new website and product catalog.

Now, in my recent roles at District 155 and Roseville Area Schools, I am a main resource for district publications. I have authored and edited hundreds of articles for websites, printed publications, newspapers, and more. Most recently, I edited a guest column I arranged for the Roseville Area Schools superintendent in the local newspaper. I edited the superintendent’s initial writing to increase clarity and fit the newspaper’s requested word count. Click here to see the original column, and click here to see my revisions.
